Nintendo Unveils New Switch Bundles Ahead of Holiday Season Amid Declining Sales
Sep-20-2024
Nintendo has revealed the arrival of two new Nintendo Switch bundles set to debut this fall. These bundles include either the standard Nintendo Switch or the Nintendo Switch – OLED Model, alongside Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in addition to a one-year subscription to Nintendo Switch Online.
The company anticipates that these offerings will draw interest from those looking to get ahead of the holiday shopping season. The Nintendo Switch – OLED Model: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Collection, available for $349.99, features the OLED system with white Joy-Con controllers, accompanied by a digital activation key for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, plus a 12-month individual membership for Nintendo Switch Online.
Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle is offered for $299.99, complete with a Nintendo Switch system showcasing Neon Red and Neon Blue Joy-Con controllers, along with a code for downloading Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (valued at $59.99), and a 12-month membership for Nintendo Switch Online (worth $19.99).
According to Nintendo, each bundle provides a total savings of $79.98. These packages will be accessible online, in the My Nintendo store, and at selected retail locations starting in October, while supplies last. As the Switch approaches the close of its life cycle, and anticipation builds for the much-anticipated announcement of the Switch 2, a number of exclusive titles are still lined up for release.
Upcoming games include The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, which is slated for September 26; Super Mario Party Celebration, scheduled for release on October 17; Mario & Luigi: Brothership, arriving on November 7; and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, set to make its way to Switch on January 16, 2025.
After nearly eight years since its debut, unit sales of Nintendo Switch hardware and software have seen a notable decline year-on-year. Nintendo is now tasked with reviving sales of the Switch, which has achieved an impressive 140 million units sold, as gamers eagerly await the next generation of consoles.
